Ros is a Laughter, Wellbeing and Positivity author and academic. She is Adjunct lecturer at the School of Public Health and Psychology at La Trobe University and coordinator of a world first Laughter, Resilience and Wellbeing online short course for professionals. Ros is author of The Laughter Effect – How to Build Joy, Resilience and Positivity in Your Life (2023) and “Laughing at cancer – How to Heal with Love, Laughter and Mindfulness”, part memoir and part healing guide, written following a shock diagnosis of bowel cancer. Elise Hearst is a Melbourne-based playwright. Her recent work for the stage includes Bright World, which she also performed in, and premiered at Theatre Works in 2016. Other credits include The Mesh (Red Stitch and Arthur), The Sea Project which was shortlisted for the Griffin Award (Griffin Theatre and Arthur, Mudlark Theatre and Arthur, MTC Cybec Readings) and Dirtyland (National Play Festival, New Theatre and Arthur). In 2016 Elise was a finalist for the Lysicrates Prize for her play The Good Wolf.
Sharon Brous is the founding rabbi of IKAR and a leading voice in reanimating American Jewry. Since starting IKAR in 2004, Brous has been recognized a number of times as one of the nation’s leading rabbis by Newsweek/ The Daily Beast and as one of the 50 most influential American Jews by the Forward.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Shannyn has been singing since she could talk. She studied music and performance through to University and completed an Advanced Diploma in Sound Engineering at RMIT.
Shannyn has been working with communities throughout Australia and beyond since mid 2013 to run and create programming, lead Shabbat and holiday services and connect people of all ages with Judaism. She founded the Meaningful Music Movement in 2015 to provide workshops and events that engage people to Judaism through music and Barefoot Shabbat events. She is currently studying primary teaching and completing a new album to be released later this year.
Ruth Picker is a worker, wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, poet and songwriter. She works for EY and created The Song Tailors project. Her return to songwriting after 30 years was triggered by personal tragedy around her.
